National Technology Day
IEI (I) PLC & Tech Forum jointly celebrated National technology Day on Monday 12th May 2025. Since 1999, 11th May was observed. Mr Vishwas Kale, Managing Director, Vijayesh Instruments Pvt Ltd, delivered a lecture on National Technology Day on 12th May at The Institution of Engineers, Pune. This was Tech Forumâs initiative. The theme for this yearâs day was âEmpowering a Sustainable Tomorrow through Innovationâ. The presentation covered many aspects.
Why the Day is celebrated, the National Awards given by the Technology Development Board every year to various categories in industries and much more.
Mr Kale narrated the various technologies emerged in the last ten years and upcoming commercially viable products. These were really interesting. He mentioned A High-Tech Tutor, Hydrogen Power for Aircrafts and Cars, E-Assist Stroller, Smart-slate for Braille Learners, Solar Powered Car, Protein via Air, Making Coffee from Thin Air and many more.
He stressed need for more Industry-Academica interactions where we are ranked very low globally. The opportunities for start-ups are tremendous but these are not grabbed by enough youngsters. He ended on a positive note that one day an Indian Nobel Laureate will be there, with the research being done in India!
There was a very lively interaction with attendees who asked many questions.
World Amateur (Ham) Radio Day
Pune Hams & Tech Forum, along with AIR Pune, will celebrate World Amateur (Ham) Radio Day on Tuesday, 18th April 2023, at AIR Shivaji Nagar Pune Auditorium. "Human Security for All, HS4A," was the theme of World Amateur Radio Day. On this occasion, a school children visit was organised to AIR Studio Pune.
In the programme, presentations were made by Mr. Adhir Gadpale, DDG, Head, and Mr. Indrajeet Bagal, ADP, Programme Head, 0AIR Pune. Presentation made on Ham Radio Day theme "Human Security for All, HS4A" by Mr. Vishwas Kale, MD, Vijayesh Instruments.
Quiz Contest conducted by MFJ Lion Satish Rajhans supported by Deeali & Reshma. The spot price distribution was made to winning students.
World Ham Radio Day
The World Ham Radio Day was celebrated by Pune Hams VU2RCP on 12th April 2022 at GS Moze College of Engineering's E&TC dept., Balewadi Pune -45
The event started with tracking of ISS. OM Ajit Karnik (VU2AMK) explained the ISS reception of SSTV broadcast on College Ground.
An ARISS Slow Scan TV (SSTV) event was scheduled from the International Space Station (ISS) April 11-13 on 145.800 MHz FM to celebrate Cosmonautics Day and Women in Space.
Fox hunting activity was done wherein participants use radio direction-finding techniques to locate radio transmitters hidden within a designated search area.

World Telecom Day
- Pune Hams and Tech Forum in Association with IEEE Communication Society, Pune Section Chapter celebrated World Telecom Day on Tuesday, 17th May 2024.
- Pune Hams VU2RCP, along with the IEEE Communications Society, AISSMS IOIT, Tech Forum, and PMA, celebrated World Telecom Day on Wed, 17th May 2023. Mr. Pramod Kale, ex-director of ISRO, was the chief guest.
- Pune Hams and Tech Forum in Association with IETE Pune Local Centre celebrated World Telecom Day on Tuesday, 17th May 2022. Had a lecture on trends in telecommunication engineering by Mr. Vineet Mathur, deputy director general (retd.), Telecom Enforcement & Resources Monitoring Cell, Department of Telecommunications, with a demo & presentation of HAM radio.
World Television Day
Pune Hams (VU2RCP) in association with Muktangan Science Exploratory, IETE and Tech Forum celebrated
World Television Day on Sunday, 21st November 2021, at the Exploratory Auditorium. The focus was on students and the promotion of ham radio. Mr. Vishwas Kale delivered a well-studied and researched presentation on the history of television. His presentation was very well received by all participants.
Pune Hams VU2RCP celebrated World Television Day 2022 with IEI PLC, IETE Pune, & Tech Forum at Firodia Auditorium. Speaker Mr. Pramod Kale speaks on the history of television and early challenges in the Indian TV industry. This year the theme is âRecognizing the influence television has had on decision-making by drawing attention to conflicts, dangers, peace, and security.â
Sir JC Bose's birth anniversary
- Pune Hams, in association with MES Garware College, Vidnyan Bharati, IETE, & Tech Forum, celebrated the Father of Radio, Sir JC Bose's, 163rd birth anniversary at AV Hall, Karve Road, Pune 4, on 30th Nov 2021.
- Pune Hams, along with IEI PLC & Tech Forum, celebrated the 164th birth anniversary of Sir JC Bose, Father of Radio, on Wednesday, 30th November 2022. The theme selected this year by Pune Hams is Be curious, experiment, learn, and succeed; this is the real tribute to Sir JC Bose.
