Pune Hams VU2RCP in association with Tech Forum & IETE will celebrate World Television Day in MES Abasaheb Garware College yesterday morning. (i.e. Friday 9th January 2026.)
It was 119th Tech Talk
More than 70 students and faculty attended the event.
The Guest of Honour was OM Balaji, VU2JEL Spacecraft Mechanism scientist from ISRO Bangalore
Spacecraft Mechanism Scientist (or Engineer) designs, develops, and tests the crucial moving parts of spacecraft, like deployable solar panels, antennas, robotic arms, and deployment systems, ensuring they function reliably in harsh space environments (vacuum, extreme temps, radiation) to achieve mission objectives, a role requiring expertise in mechanical design, materials, and actuators (motors, springs) for reliable, often redundant, motion.
Normally World TV Day is observed on 21st November every year. Due to collage examinations, we could not celebrate it on 21st Nov 25, Hence the delay
Mr Vishwas Kale, MD, Vijayesh Instruments P Ltd was main speaker for the program. He covered technology aspects along with TV history and made the audience aware about it.
