Use of robotics, artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision has increased significantly in all our day-to-day life. It plays an important role in factory automation, autonomous driving, social networking and many more. Medical robotics is no exception. Robotics helps to achieve the highest measure of quality and tight tolerances, which are essential for medical, pharmaceutical or brain computer interface applications. This talk looks at the general development in robotics, computer vision, control in the last 5 years, and its implications on medical, BCI, drug discovery.

Amey Joshi obtained bachelor’s degree from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, a Masters degree from University of Minnesota Twin Cities and currently pursuing Ph.D. from University of Minnesota Twin Cities, all in Mechanical Engineering. His research is at the intersection of robotics, controls, computer vision, biomedical. During his graduate studies, he has developed universal automated microinjection system for automating critical IVF for model organisms
