Nadi Pulse Analysis System: Integrating Traditional Nadi Pariksha with Cutting-Edge Pressure Sensor Technology. Bridging Ancient Ayurveda with Advanced Technology for Optimal
Synopsys
The main motivation of the work is to convert the subjective method of Human pulse diagnosis
(Nadi Pariksha) into an objective method. Development of suitable sensor, development of
Radial pulse data acquisition system, radial pulse data collection and data analysis are the
main jobs to be carried out. This further is to be taken for disease diagnosis
The development involves
1) Finalizing the pressure sensor characteristics and therefore material
characteristics needed for radial pulse pressure measurement.
2) Optimization process parameters for obtaining PVdF thin film of expected
characteristics through Physical, Chemical and Structural, Electrical and
Dielectric characterization of developed material by XRD, FTIR, SEM, EDAX,
XPS, DSC, Talley step, and other techniques.
3) Packaging of sensor in suitable housing
4) Preparation and characteriszation of piezoelectric sensors.
5) Feasibility study of a developed sensor for human pulse detection.
6) Comparison of developed sensor response with commercial sensor response and selection of sensor for pulse measurement.
7) To design and develop a mechanical system (fixture/applicator) for measurement
of pulse at three points to stimulate the manual diagnosis.
8) To design and develop pulse processing circuit, including filtering and amplification.

9) To acquire pulse data using a developed system for a large number of people.
10) Analysis of pulse using LabView and classification as vata, pitta, or kapha.
11) Validation of system by collecting and analyzing sample data on the
commercially available Pulse Analysis System
12) Confirming the classification with Nadi Vaidya and making a template. The same
may be confirmed to be an allopathic doctor.
13) Data collection and data analysis are required for disease diagnosis.
